The project is a real-time sonic installation and silk prints of the visualization of ships position and movements in the sea.

We are applying AIS radar for catching radio waves that ships are constantly sending. Hence, we are able to listen to the AIS communication from boats. The truth is, sea contains lots of interesting data. Therefore, we aim to use this data for the real-time score composition purpose, and thus, offer a novel sonic experience to the audience. The sound piece is in a constant flux, unique, and unpredictable. Moreover, the work goes beyond chance-based composition by reflecting on the current traffic of the sea.

The project has been realized using in PD and Processing. The silk prints had been produced in MirĂ³ foundation workshops as part of collaboration of Crida residency.

The project is developed in collaboration with Varvara Guljajeva.
